Chiropractic 101
What Is Chiropractic?
A concise, plain-language introduction to chiropractic care — what it is, what it addresses, and how it complements other forms of healthcare.
Chiropractic is a licensed healthcare profession focused on the assessment and care of the neuromusculoskeletal system — the joints, muscles, connective tissues, and nerves that shape how the body moves and feels.
In practice, chiropractors evaluate posture, joint motion, and movement patterns; identify areas of restriction or irritation; and use hands-on care, mobilization, exercise, and lifestyle guidance to support recovery and function.
What chiropractic is not
Chiropractic care does not cure disease, replace medical management, or guarantee a specific outcome. When symptoms suggest something outside the scope of chiropractic care, appropriate referral is part of good practice.
This article is general education, not personal medical advice. If your symptoms include any red-flag signs, seek prompt medical evaluation.
