Maintenance care refers to scheduled visits after an initial episode has improved. Published studies in this area are limited and mixed; some suggest possible benefit for selected patients with recurrent low back pain, while broader claims are not well supported.

Ongoing care should be a shared decision based on your history, goals, and measured response — not an automatic recommendation. Frequency should be justified by findings and reviewed regularly.
